Photograph and Media Intern

Reporting to the Marketing and Communications Manager, the Photograph and Media Intern will photograph and video events, programs like Summer Camp, and seasonal highlights across the Sanctuary’s trails and properties. The intern will also assist with editing, labeling, and organizing photos and videos that will be used in social media, newsletters, and promotional materials.

Per Diem Naturalist Educator - Middle School Specialist

Responsible for providing educational programming with a focus on youth ages 11-14, including but not limited to field trips, after school programming, summer and vacation camps, guided walks, and Curiosity Lab engagement. The Naturalist Educator should have experience working with middle school students and a passion for nature. The Naturalist Educator will support the Education team with public programming, curriculum building, and staffing the Curiosity Lab.

2026 Third Beach Teacher Naturalist

The Third Beach Teacher Naturalist leads lessons for each camp group every week at Norman Bird Sanctuary’s Coastal Education Center (C.E.C.). Third Beach Teacher Naturalist-led programs include but are not limited to: seining; beach, dune, and marsh explorations; and marine identification. This position requires working collaboratively with Teacher Naturalists to ensure beach programs match weekly and daily themes for each camp group. Campers range in age from 6 to 11 years old, and all applicants should be comfortable working with multiple age groups each day. The Third Beach Teacher Naturalist is responsible for the set-up, care, and end of summer cleanup of saltwater aquaria.

2026 Assistant Naturalist in Training (A.N.T.)

Norman Bird Sanctuary is seeking volunteer Assistant Teacher Naturalists (A.N.T.s) for our Summer Camp program. Assistant Naturalists in Training (A.N.T.s) are rising 8th grade and high school volunteers who love working with children and can commit a minimum of 2-3 weeks of their summer to working at the Norman Bird Sanctuary. A.N.T.s assist Teacher Naturalists in preparing for lessons, managing camp groups, playing games, and much more.
