Norman Bird Sanctuary is determined to engage the community’s youngest naturalists with the environment and natural knowledge to foster a hands-on, child-centered exploration of our beautiful campus. Guided by skilled teacher naturalists, participants will experience holistic growth through adventurous play and structured risk-taking.

Our guided hikes invite students to explore the sanctuary’s diverse ecosystems through observation and hands-on learning. These field-based experiences are designed to spark curiosity and deepen understanding of the natural world.
To ensure a safe and enjoyable visit, we ask that educators and students come prepared for outdoor conditions—dressing appropriately for the weather and wearing sturdy, comfortable shoes suitable for walking trails.
