Join us for an evening of learning about water quality and how you can get involved as a volunteer - no experience needed!
This information session invites both prospective volunteers and anyone curious about local conservation to learn more about the Norman Bird Sanctuary's Water Quality Monitoring and Restoration Program. Attendees will be introduced to the three available volunteer roles and the meaningful impact this work has on our campus waterways.
The Norman Bird Sanctuary Water Quality Monitoring and Restoration Program tests physical, chemical, and biological parameters across both freshwater and saltwater ecosystems within the Sanctuary’s 300-acre property. Volunteers collect and analyze data—including measurements of pH, dissolved oxygen, nutrients (such as nitrate, ammonia, and phosphorus), salinity (in saltwater), and temperature.
