Celebrate the arrival of spring and the magic of migration season at the Norman Bird Sanctuary with a Spring Migration Celebration! Join family and friends for a morning filled with nature, creativity, and community.The Spring Migration Celebration festivities include:

  • Guided bird walks with seasoned birders along the trails. Offered every half hour starting at 8:00 a.m., these walks are perfect for seasoned and beginner birders of all ages. Keep an eye out for Tree Swallows, Osprey, and so much more!
  • Seasonal refreshments including light breakfast food, coffee, tea, and juice.
  • Fun, nature-inspired children’s crafts including a paint-your-own birdhouse activity generously provided by Bruno Painting.
  • A special spring Hawk Talk with Norman Bird Sanctuary educators. Together with our rehabilitated Red-tailed Hawk, learn about the important role that birds of prey play in our local ecosystem.
  • Live music set to the backdrop of windswept fields, sweeping open vistas, and hundreds of nesting boxes.
  • A vendor show featuring local artisans, eco-friendly products, and community organizations.
  • Full access to our interactive Curiosity Lab with a Puppet Theater, Magnification Station, Scientific Illustration, and more.
