Holiday Geology Hike

This event has ended

Friday, November 29, 2024 1:30pm - 3:00pm

Norman Bird Sanctuary

Free, Registration Required, and Donation Encouraged

Lace up, gather family and friends, and get ready to walk off that Thanksgiving feast during a special post-holiday geology hike. Join us on Hanging Rock Ridge for sprawling views over the ocean, Gardiner Pond, and Narragansett Bay – some of the most stunning sights on Aquidneck Island.

With Norman Bird Sanctuary educators leading the way, explore the geological shifts that shaped our coastline, learn about the glacial activity in southern New England, and discover how the Hanging Rock and Red Fox Ridges were formed.

We are sharing the love this holiday season and offering this guided walk free of charge. We ask that you please register and consider donating to show your appreciation for our dedication to environmental education. All donations directly support the protection of this special place for years to come.
